The Use of Recycled Tire Rubber, Crushed Glass, and Crushed Clay Brick in Lightweight Concrete Production: A Review

چکیده
Worldwide, vast amounts of waste are produced every year and most is sent directly to landfills or burnt, which has severe harmful impacts on the environment. Recycling materials considered visible solution protect Using scraps in concrete production a proper method for getting rid wastes, improving characteristics concrete, reducing consumption natural aggregates, can be used as cementitious that decrease cement so CO2 during manufacturing decreases. This review paper summarizes use recycled materials, including rubber tires, crushed glass, clay brick fractional replacement cement, etc., develop eco-friendly lightweight construction materials. It been concluded dry density sustainable decreased 4, 21.7, 31.7% when brick, tire were incorporated into instead traditional aggregate, respectively. Waste good results sulfate, thermal, impact resistance, while glass powder finely helped improve mechanical properties by increasing reach 33% slight increase well thermal resistance compared normal concrete. Moreover, due low particle these normal-weight utilized efficiently produce structural non-structural applications such road engineering, flooring mounting machinery, highway rail crash barriers, permeable pavement, interlocking bricks, insulation, filling bearing walls.

Recycled crushed glass in road work applications.
A comprehensive suite of geotechnical laboratory tests was undertaken on samples of recycled crushed glass produced in Victoria, Australia. Three types of recycled glass sources were tested being coarse, medium and fine sized glass. Laboratory testing results indicated that medium and fine sized recycled glass sources exhibit geotechnical behavior similar to natural aggregates. Coarse recycled ...

Recycled glass is a mixture of different coloured glass particles with debris. It is the result of crushing the waste glass collected from residential and industrial areas. Construction and Demolition (C&D) materials such as concrete, excavation stone (basalt) and brick make up a significant proportion of the waste materials present in landfills in Australia. Substituting the quarry produced cr...
متن کاملMechanisms of Phosphorus Removal by Recycled Crushed Concrete
Due to urbanisation, there are large amounts of waste concrete, particularly in rapidly industrialising countries. Currently, demolished concrete is mainly recycled as aggregate for reconstruction. This study has shown that larger sizes (2-5 mm) of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) removed more than 90% of P from effluent when at pH 5. Analysis of the data, using equilibrium models, indicated a...
متن کاملInternal Curing with Crushed Returned Concrete Aggregates
High performance concrete (HPC) requires a low water-to-cementitious materials mass ratio (w/cm), often with the inclusion of supplemental cementitious materials such as silica fume in the mixture, thus necessitating the use of a superplasticizer. Because of the low w/cm and rapid reaction at early ages, proper curing from the earliest time possible is very essential in HPC. Internal curing has...
